Icelandic elf Björk — whose full name is the tongue-twisting, eyeball-bending Björk Guðmundsdóttir — rose to fame in the 1980s via her art rock band The Sugarcubes. Visionary artist and petite powerhouse of erotic confrontation Björk fronted that chart-topping alternative pop group with her ex-husband, about whom we care nothing. After the Sugarcubes dissolved, Björk established herself as a cult phenom and weird-chick superstar through a series of oddball records and even more eccentric music videos.
